Shillong, Aug 25: Four stolen bikes were recovered by Amlarem and Dawki police in two separate incidents on August 24.
The first two motorcycles were intercepted at Ladjaplem, Amlarem on August 24 based on information about stolen bikes.
Riders Pynshngai Jyrwa (23) of Umsning-Mawkhan and Rijiedstar Shylla (27) of Umsning-Sohkyndur, Ri-Bhoi, were apprehended.
Verification showed the bikes (AS-01FK 3482 and AS-26A 9873) were stolen from Changsari, Assam, where a case has been registered.
The bikes and the accused were handed over to Changsari PS on August 25.
On the same day, Dawki PS intercepted two more suspected stolen bikes – NL-07EB 8467 and AS-05S 3378 – which are under verification.
West Jaintia Hills SP has appealed to the public to secure their vehicles and report suspicious activity on 112.
