Games kick-off at Jowai tomorrow

Shillong, Jan 19: The 6th Meghalaya Games 2025 will formally kick off with the arrival of the ceremonial torch in Jowai on Monday.

The torch will be carried to Iungwalieh Lumkyrwiang where it will be kept for public viewing from 2 pm onwards, stated a press release.

Earlier, the torch of the sporting extravaganza passed through Tura and Shillong amid fanfare.

The Games, which started on January 16, will continue till January 25. However, it will be formally inaugurated on Monday.

Around 3,500 players will be competing in 29 disciplines, including four demo sports during this edition of Meghalaya Games.
