GHADC polls: NPP candidates’ list to be out soon: Marak

Shillong, Feb 4: The selection of NPP candidates for elections to Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) is expected to be completed soon, NPP working president and cabinet minister Marcuise N Marak said on Wednesday.

Stating that the party will contest all the 29 seats, he said, “We are at the final stage of selecting our candidates… We will be declaring all the candidates very soon.”

On prominent opposition for GHADC polls, Marak said, “Congress might be the next party who will be fighting with us. Also, I am hearing that TMC is not going to put up candidates.”

The NPP has received multiple applications from ticket aspirants in some constituencies, with up to seven candidates vying for party sponsorship in some areas, he said.
