Shillong, Feb 4: A West Jaintia Hills court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murdering his wife by setting her on fire nearly two decades ago.

The Court of the Sessions Judge, Jowai, presided over by  N. A. Khan, convicted Stam Surong, a resident of Mukhla Nongrim village, in connection with Sessions Case No. 37 of 2015. The court found him guilty under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for the murder of his wife.
