GHADC to pay 10 months’ salary to employees soon

Shillong, Sep 18: In a huge relief to employees of Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC), the Council has ordered payment of their pending salary for 10 months – over 40 months’ salary was pending – with immediate effect.

The GHADC executive committee (EC) in a letter to the president of Non-Gazetted Employees’ Association (NGEA) of GHADC informed about the Council’s decision, saying the 10 months’ salary will be cleared in three installments at the earliest.

Meanwhile, the GHADC has also assured its employees of regular payment of monthly salary with effect from November 1, 2025.

Subsequently, the Council has asked its employees, who have been protesting against non-payment of salary for 43 months, to resume their duty immediately.
