Govt expects early release of scholarship

Shillong, Mar 3: Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma on Monday said the government is expecting an early release of the third scholarship instalment to over 20,000 students of the state.

“We are waiting for the ministry to release the third instalment and we expect an early release. The second instalment has already been released,” Sangma told reporters.

“We have close to over 60,000 students, of which 40,000 have already received their scholarship and about 20,000 are still waiting for the third instalment from the Centre,” he added.
