Govt releases pending salary of GHADC staff, pension of ex-MDCs

Shillong, Dec 19: In a heartening development for GHADC employees ahead of Christmas, the state government has released two months’ of their pending salary along with pensions of former MDCs.

Announcing this after a meeting on Friday, the GHADC Sub-Committee informed that the salary arrears were released on December 19.

GHADC employees and current MDCs have also been receiving their monthly salaries on time, fulfilling Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma’s earlier commitment, the Committee stated.

The Sub-Committee said pensions for Ex-MDCs have been credited starting December 19.

Several GHADC employees told the media they were grateful to the State Government, particularly Chief Minister, for clearing the two months’ salary backlog ahead of Christmas and ensuring timely release of monthly salary.

They said the payments have provided much-needed relief to their families, eased financial stress and allowed them to celebrate the festive season without the difficulties faced in previous years.
