Guv wishes participants of 28th National Youth Festival

Shillong, Jan 8: Governor CH Vijayashankar flagged off a contingent of 51 young participants from Meghalaya who will represent the state at the 28th National Youth Festival on Tuesday.

The National Youth Festival, organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, which aims to empower young minds and provide a platform for showcasing their talents, ideas, and cultural heritage will be held from January 10 to 12 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

 This year’s festival is themed around the Prime Minister’s vision of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) and features events like the Viksit Bharat Young Leader Dialogue and various traditional art forms.

The Meghalaya delegation includes 21 participants selected for the Viksit Bharat Young Leader Dialogue, representing innovative ideas across themes like empowering women, fitness, technology, and agriculture; 30 participants competing in traditional events such as group folk dance, group folk song, declamation, poetry, story writing, and painting;

The governor extended his wishes to the contingent for a successful and enriching experience at the festival and also expressed immense pride in the youth of the state, calling them the ambassadors of the state’s rich cultural heritage and innovative spirit.

He also encouraged the participants to make the most of this opportunity by showcasing their creativity, talent, and leadership on the national stage.
