HC seeks traffic data from Land Custom Stations

Shillong, May 6: The Meghalaya High Court has asked the state and union authorities to file report on the steps taken on its order regarding a PIL related to customs and transport.

While noting that the authorities failed to submit data on steps taken pursuant to interim order on April 21, 2026, the court said, “We find that no data has been submitted by the concerned authorities with respect to what steps/actions have been taken by the concerned departments.”

The court also directed the Land Custom Stations (LCSs) to also file a report on the number of vehicles that passed through the check posts after the order.

Hearing the case, the court granted time as sought by legal counsels of the authorities concerned to file the reports.

The matter has been listed for June 3, 2026.
