Jingjang M Marak Cong candidate for Gambegre

Shillong, Oct 17: The opposition Congress on Thursday announced Jingjang M Marak as the party’s candidate for upcoming bye-election to Gambegre assembly constituency scheduled on November 13.

“Congress president Mallikarjun Karge has approved the proposal to nominate (Jingjang M Marak) as party candidate for the bye-election…,” AICC general secretary KC Venugopal said in a statement.

The bye-election was necessitated following resignation of Congress’ Saleng A Sangma, who was elected to Lok Sabha from Tura in this year’s parliamentary election.
