Shillong, Oct 9: KHADC chief Winston Tony Lyngdoh on Thursday allotted portfolios to the members of the VPP-led executive committee keeping the general administration, appointment, posting & transfer, trade, enforcement, revenue collection, arts & culture, Khasi traditional medicine commission (KTMC) and others to himself.
This came a day after the Governor has approved the list of the seven executive members which include two women.
Powell Sohkhlet has been entrusted with land, development and information & technology while Seiborlang Warbah will oversee finance, taxation and forests.
Aibandaplin F Lyngdoh has been given charge of health & sanitation, solid waste management and education while Deity H Majaw will handle law & legal matters including implementation of Khasi Social Custom of Lineage Act and Rules, constitutions of courts, marriage & divorce and town committees.
In regards to the other executive, Isynei Hinge will oversee water resources and fisheries, Pynkhrawboklin Kharjahrin will handle council buildings & council assets and building byelaws and Denzil Raynard Chen will take charge of elaka administration and markets.
“Notwithstanding the above allocation, matters relating to appointment, transfer and posting of Officers & staff in all departments shall rest with the Chief Executive Member,” Lyngdoh said in a notification.
“Furthermore, necessary consultation with the Chief Executive Member or before the Executive Committee should be made in all complicated and important matters in consistent with the collective responsibility of the Executive Committee so enjoined upon under Rule 31(1) of the above mentioned Rule,” he added.
The Lyngdoh-led EC was formed following the recent stepping down of former CEM Shemborlang Rynjah due to health issues.
