Kickstarting a new era for football in Arunachal Pradesh

Guwahati, Nov 25: Arunachal Pradesh is set to witness a football revolution as the Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA) signs a five-year MoU with John Abraham’s North East United FC (NEUFC).

The partnership focuses on grassroots development, youth academies, and player scouting to unlock the potential of the state’s footballing talent.

 The five-year partnership is aimed at fostering the growth of football in the state through comprehensive programs in scouting, grassroots development, youth academies, and technical support.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu, also serving as the President of APFA, highlighted the abundant talent among the youth of Arunachal Pradesh, emphasizing the potential to nurture world-class players with proper training and early intervention.

 John Abraham echoed this sentiment, promising his club’s dedication to scouting and developing young players in the state. The MoU also involves contributions from the APFA, including infrastructure, technical, and logistical support, ensuring a collaborative approach.

This initiative, which also had the support of All India Football Federation (AIFF) President Kalyan Chaubey, is seen as a milestone in the history of football in the state and reflects a shared vision to uplift the sport and its enthusiasts in the region.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu, APFA President, called the collaboration a historic milestone and assured that Arunachal’s youth will shine on the global stage with proper training. John Abraham pledged his club’s full support, marking a promising future for football in the region.
