
Paris, June 3: Liverpool’s Portuguese forward Diogo Jota has died in a car accident near Zamora in northwestern Spain, according to reports from Reuters and Spanish media. State broadcaster TVE and sports outlet Marca confirmed the tragic news, revealing that Jota and his brother lost their lives in the crash just days after the footballer’s wedding.

Zamora’s Provincial Council released an official statement: “Two young people have died in an accident on the A-52 (Palacios de Sanabria). The Rionegro del Puente Fire Station responded to the scene. The vehicle caught fire, and the flames spread to nearby vegetation. The victims were 28 and 26 years old. RIP.”

Born in Porto, Jota began his career at Pacos de Ferreira before moving to Atlético Madrid in 2016. A year later, he joined Wolverhampton Wanderers, where his sharp finishing and attacking flair earned him recognition in the Premier League.
