Shillong, March 6: A Manipur resident was arrested and heroin weighing 71 grams seized from him by Anti‑Narcotics Task Force police in Shillong on Thursday.
The drug peddler, Hegin Guite, came from Manipur and was staying at a hotel in Police Bazar.
Acting on a tip-off, the ANTF team raided the hotel after midnight.
“During search found seven soap‑case boxes containing contraband (heroin). The total weight of the contraband is found to be 70.93 grams,” ANTF SP Vikash Kumar said.
Guite was taken into custody and handed to Sadar police station along with the seized material.
