Meghalaya Govt allocates Rs 27.2 cr for MCCL closure

Shillong, Feb 24: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Monday announced a ₹27.2 crore allocation as the final tranche of financial assistance for the Mawmluh Cherra Cements Limited (MCCL) during the next financial year.

“The government’s sensitive and caring approach to handling every issue is evident in the smooth closure of Mawmluh Cherra Cements Limited (MCCL),” Sangma said in his budget speech adding that all the 209 employees are being paid their committed dues.

“I am allocating ₹27.2 Crore as the final tranche of financial assistance for the next financial year,” he added.
