Meghalaya IT cell wins national award

Shillong, Nov 4: Meghalaya’s Information Technology & Communication Department has received the “Dual Platform Achiever” award held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on Tuesday for its unique distinction of ensuring integration with both DigiLocker and EntityLocker platforms of National eGovernance Division.

Reacting to the achievement made by the state government,  Commissioner & Secretary Pravin Bakshi said, “This holistic approach reflects Meghalaya’s commitment to empowering both citizens and organizations with secure, trusted, and interoperable digital solutions. By adopting both platforms, Meghalaya has demonstrated leadership in future-ready Governance.”

The IT&C Department, Planning Department and SeMT Meghalaya team’s coordination and dedication were central to achieving this dual milestone, he added.

The DigiLocker/EntityLocker Conference recognised top-performing states for their efforts in integrating departmental e-services with DigiLocker and EntityLocker, accelerating the vision of Digital India.

The conference brought together senior policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, academia, and technology partners to discuss the future of trusted digital document exchange in India and Digi Locker’s role as a cornerstone of Citizen-centric Governance and a vital component of India’s digital public infrastructure, with emphasis on its expanding applications in Government Services, Education, FinTech and Value-Added Services.
