Shillong, Oct 31: The Meghalaya Legislative Assembly has been conferred with a Certificate of Achievement by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs for its successful implementation of the National eVidhan Application (NeVA).
The award was presented during the 3rd National Conference on National eVidhan Application (NeVA) held at the Parliament House Annexe, New Delhi.
Assembly’s Commissioner & Secretary Dr Andrew Simons received the award on behalf of the Assembly.

The NeVA initiative, part of the Digital India Programme, aims to transition legislative assemblies to a paperless, digital system. Meghalaya Legislative Assembly has been a frontrunner in adopting and effectively implementing this transformative initiative.
Through NeVA, members can access legislative business digitally on their tablets and devices, facilitating real-time information exchange between the Assembly and government departments.
This has enhanced transparency, efficiency, and accessibility in legislative functioning.
The Assembly’s efforts to reduce paper consumption align with sustainable governance practices.
Regular training sessions have been conducted for Members of the House to ensure seamless implementation and equip them to utilize the digital tools and resources available through NeVA.
