CM’s Scholarship to be released before Christmas

Shillong, Oct 31: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has announced that the state government is taking steps to ensure timely disbursal of student scholarships, including those funded by the Central government.

Acknowledging delays in scholarship disbursement, Sangma on Friday stated that the Chief Minister’s Scholarship Scheme will be released by December this year.

“We recognised that delays in disbursing scholarships have significantly impacted our students. We are pleased to announce that the Chief Minister’s Scholarship Scheme will be released by December…,” Sangma said in his post on X.

Emphasising the government’s priority to ensure financial support to students to pursue higher education, he said, “…the Centrally Sponsored Scholarship will be disbursed in advance, even before the Government of India’s sanction is received by the state.”
