Tura, Nov 8: In a blend of tradition and progress, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma today spearheaded a prayer ceremony and concrete pouring for the first pillar of the new Additional Secretariat Complex at Dakopgre, Tura, marking a major step toward bolstering administrative capabilities in the Garo Hills region.
The chief minister personally inspected the ongoing works, giving his approval for the project’s swift pace and high-quality execution.

Addressing officers, public and stakeholders at the event, the chief minister said, “We are here in Tura at the site where the Additional Secretariat will be coming up. Today is a very auspicious and important day, because we have laid the first foundation for this project. This additional Secretariat is a great moment for the people of the state as a whole, and particularly for the people of Garo Hills, as it will serve the people of this region and the state in many positive ways.”

The programme included an opening prayer by Rev Dilseng M Sangma, followed by the ceremonial pouring of concrete by dignitaries led by the chief minister. The ceremony concluded with a closing prayer offered by Fr Janurius S Sangma, Principal of Don Bosco College. Tura.
