Minor ‘molested’ by 55-yr-old man

Guwahati, Jan 10: In a gruesome act, a 55-year-old person allegedly molested a 12-year-old girl by tying her hands and legs before being rescued by local youth, at Dainadubi in North Garo Hills district.

Hands and feet of the minor girl were tied by the accused with an intention to sexually harass her, according to complaints lodged by local NGOs to District Child Welfare Officer at Resubelpara on Thursday.

Some local youth came to know about the incident and rescued the girl, they said.

The NGOs, including A’chik Indigenous Justice Initiative Forum (AIJIF), Northern zone and A’chik Youth Welfare Organisation (AYWO), Dainadubi urged the DCWO to take action against the accused and protect the victim.
