Mizoram CM kicks off self-enumeration exercise of Census 2027

Aizawl, Apr 1: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Wednesday kicked off the self-enumeration exercise under Census 2027, an official said.

Lalduhoma completed the process at his official residence via the newly launched online census portal, he said.

Officials from the Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC), the General Administration Department, and the Directorate of Census Operations were present to facilitate the digital entry, he said.

Home Minister K Sapdanga and PWD Minister Vanlalhlana also completed the self-enumeration process in the morning, the CMO official said.

Self-enumeration has been introduced in the current and 16th Census of India, allowing people to submit information through a census portal. It is a secure web-based facility by which respondents can enter their information online in 16 languages before the door-to-door survey, officials said.

In Mizoram, the window for self-enumeration is open from April 1 to April 15. (PTI)
