Motorcyclist killed in head-on collision in Garo Hills

Williamnagar, Feb 13: A tragic road accident occurred on Thursday on the Rongjeng to Songsak state highway in East Garo Hills with a motorcyclist losing his life in a collision with a loaded truck.

The incident took place at approximately 3:30 pm near Jamge village on National Highway 127 B when the motorist bearing motorcycle registration number ML13 A 5207 that was coming in to Songsak collided head on with the truck As 19 L 4955 that was heading in the opposite direction towards Rongjeng.

The impact of the collision left the motorcyclist, identified as Trilish S Sangma, a resident of Jamge A village, with severe injuries. He was immediately rushed to Williamnagar Civil Hospital for emergency medical treatment but passed away from his injuries.

The body of the deceased has been transferred to the hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination and further legal formalities.
