Nausena Shaurya Vatika to inspire youths: UP CM Adityanath

Lucknow, May 30: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath said on Saturday that the newly inaugurated ‘Nausena Shaurya Vatika’ in Lucknow would inspire youth, strengthen patriotic values, and offer visitors a chance to understand the Indian Navy’s role, sacrifices and technological capabilities.

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the facility along with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Adityanath said the Naval-themed memorial and open-air museum was jointly developed by the Indian Navy and the Uttar Pradesh government and would become a significant attraction in the state capital.

Welcoming Singh to his parliamentary constituency, the chief minister thanked Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi and his team for completing the project within the stipulated timeframe in collaboration with the state government.

Adityanath said visitors coming to Lucknow would now witness not only India’s cultural heritage and traditions but also a centre showcasing the country’s defence capabilities.

Referring to the warship INS Gomati, the museum’s centrepiece, he said the vessel safeguarded India’s maritime interests for years before being decommissioned in 2022 and now inspires future generations on the banks of the Gomti River.

“When people think big and work towards larger goals, the outcome creates opportunities that inspire society. Through this museum, young people will learn about the Indian Navy, the conditions in which our soldiers serve and the challenges they overcome,” he said.

The chief minister said respect for the armed forces is one of the key pledges highlighted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the vision of a developed India.

He said soldiers guarding the country’s borders in extreme weather conditions and naval personnel protecting maritime frontiers enable 140 crore Indians to live peacefully and contribute towards national development.

“Development can move forward effectively only in a secure environment,” said Adityanath, adding that citizens also have a responsibility to honour the sacrifices made by armed forces personnel.

Emphasising the importance of national security, he said strong defence capabilities commanded respect globally.

The chief minister said while peace remained the highest virtue in normal circumstances, decisive action was necessary when the nation’s security is threatened.

Adityanath said the museum, along with the recently inaugurated Rashtriya Prerna Sthal, would emerge as a major centre showcasing the courage and valour of India’s armed forces.

He also advocated displaying decommissioned military equipment, including tanks, at prominent public locations to inspire patriotism and encourage young people to consider careers in the armed forces.

Developed in Lucknow’s CG City area, the facility exhibits an anchor, CET-53M submarine obstacle equipment, the ship’s main mast, a propeller, and other items. (PTI)
