NPP announces 2nd list for ADC polls

Shillong, Jan 11: The ruling National People’s Party (NPP) has released its second list of seven candidates for the autonomous district council (ADC) elections going to be held on February 21.

Prominent faces among the list are sitting MLA Sosthenes Sohtun from Jirang and former legislator Samlin Malngiang from Sohiong constituency under Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC).

The other candidates are Dr Amanda Annete Pakyntein – Mawkynrew, Joplin Sten – Mawhati, Elias Kharbihkhiew – Sohryngkham Mawryngkneng, Sharailang Warjri – Mawthadraishan and Kordor L Nongkynrih – Mawkhar Pynthorumkhrah.

So far, the NPP has announced 45 candidates of which, including 25 from KHADC and 20 from JHADC.
