NPP gears up for GHADC polls

Shillong, June 5: The National People’s Party (NPP) has geared up for the upcoming elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC), NPP leader and cabinet minister Rakkam A Sangma told reporters on Thursday.

“Under the dynamic leadership of our chief minister, we are already on the ground preparing (for the GHADC polls),” Sangma said.

“We know the political pitch of the state. We will put up players according to the pitch and playground,” he added.

Welcoming the opposition Voice of the People Party (VPP)’s decision to contest the GHADC polls, the NPP leader said if they want to become a state party, they should reach out to every nook and corner of the state.

“…you should display your colours and preach to the people. If you want to grow, you should be acceptable by one and all, we should not leave any rooms for criticism. We should not have any boundary to be drawn, I feel they should also try there,” he stated.
