Only need to serve the people the best: Rymbui

Shillong, Sep 17: Newly inducted minister Lahkmen Rymbui has expressed his commitment to serving the people, regardless of the position he holds.

“It is the same for me, we only need to serve the people the best. For me, whatever position I hold, it does not make a difference at all,” the UDP legislator from Amlarem told reporters after being sworn in as cabinet minister.

He expressed his willingness to take on the responsibilities entrusted to him by the Chief Minister and deliver on the people’s aspirations.

“Whatever responsibility he entrusts upon me, I will try to do justice and try to deliver to fulfill the aspirations of the people as much as possible,” he added.

Lauding the state government’s initiatives, he said, “The MDA government since 2018 has been working very hard to transform, to reform, and to give the assurance to the people that there is a government who will look into all aspects for the betterment of the state.”

The next two-and-a-half years will be a continuation of the government’s efforts to improve and learn from its experiences over the past seven-and-a-half years, he said.
