Over 400 cars owners violate tinted glass rule

Shillong, Aug 7: The Shillong Traffic Police (STP) has taken action on 408 vehicle owners for using unauthorised black/tinted films during an exercise which was conducted from July 14 to August 1.

Action has been taken accordingly against the violators as per the provisions of MV Act, said the police.

“All motorists are requested to refrain from using black films on their vehicles as it violates the direction of the Supreme Court of India passed vide WP (C) No. 265 of 2011 prohibiting using of black films of any percentage on the windshield and side glasses of the vehicle,” said Superintendent of Police East Khasi Hills.

The SP said that strict action will be taken against the violators as per law
