PET to be held in 2 weeks: Dy CM

Shillong, Nov 23: The Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which was suspended by the Central Recruitment Board (CRB) due to alleged deficiencies in the recruitment process, will be conducted against within two weeks.

“We decided to cancel and restart the PET due to some technical defect in the instrument,” said deputy chief minister in-charge Home (Police) Prestone Tynsong on Friday.

“It will take one or two weeks (to rectify the defect) and once everything is in place, we will restart the PET,” he assured.

The rectified system will ensure record of exact information on the number of rounds completed by a candidate during PET, Tynsong said.

“Once the instrument is in place, we will recall the candidates,” he added.

Earlier, CRB issued a helpline no. 633164273 for the candidates to resolve their queries.

The CRB issued an advisory requesting all PET candidates not to fall prey to scammers promising jobs

The CRB chairman said scammers had been asking payment through UPI, Google Pay, and other modes of payment to make candidates pass the PET.
