‘Anomalies’ in recruitment of staff nurses at Nongstoin
Shillong, Oct 3: A two-member Inquiry Committee probing alleged irregularities in recruitment of staff nurses at MCH Hospital, Nongstoin, will start recording statements of candidates from October 5.
The panel comprising the Executive Magistrate and SP, West Khasi Hills, is looking into allegations of irregularities, bribery, illegal gratification, extortion and coercion in the recruitment.
In a notice, the committee has invited candidates who were shortlisted for the interview and faced demands for money or any coercion before, during or after the interview to depose.
They have been asked to submit written complaints along with corroborative evidence such as audio/video recordings, message logs and transaction details, if available.
The statements will be recorded from October 5 to 9, between 10 am and 4 pm at Room No. 108, Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Nongstoin.
The committee has assured that, “The identities of candidate-witnesses and their testimonies will be kept strictly confidential to protect them from any victimisation or harassment.”
The move aims at ensuring a fair, transparent and merit-based selection process, the order issued in public interest stated.
