Ready for any responsibility: Rakkam

Shillong, Sep 5: Amid speculations rife over a cabinet reshuffle soon, cabinet minister Rakkam A Sangma has expressed his willingness to accept any responsibility assigned to him by the NPP high command.

He currently holds the portfolios of Education, Border Areas Development, and General Administration.

“If the party high command decides, I am ready for any responsibility,” the National People’s Party (NPP) Siju-Rongara legislator told reporters on Friday.

With the ruling Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA-II) government completing its two-and-a-half years, half of the five-year tenure, there have been speculations about the NPP-led coalition government going to accommodate new faces to ensure its political stability.

“It is the prerogative of the chief minister and we are ready to serve the people of the state in any position,” Sangma added.
