Sanbor Shullai extends relief to Rilbong fire victims

Shillong, Aug 3: Following the devastating fire that engulfed several houses and left many families homeless at Zig Zag Road in Rilbong, relief efforts were undertaken by various sections of society to support the rehabilitation of those affected.

On Sunday, South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai visited the affected area and extended immediate relief to the victims, assuring them of continued support during the rehabilitation process. The relief initiative was carried out with the support of members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Bihari Welfare Association (BWA) and local residents of the area.

Expressing grief over the tragic incident, Shullai conveyed his solidarity with the affected families and assured them that every possible assistance would be provided. He also urged residents to take necessary safety precautions to help prevent such incidents in the future.

As part of the immediate relief measures, the MLA distributed financial assistance to six affected families.

The affected families were also requested to prepare a list of essential household materials and other immediate requirements and were assured by the MLA that he will personally review their needs and ensure that the necessary assistance is provided at the earliest.

The relief initiative is aimed at supporting the affected families in their recovery while facilitating their rehabilitation following the unfortunate incident.
