Shillong, Apr 11: Assembly speaker Thomas A Sangma on Friday inaugurated the boys’ hostel of Durama Degree College at Meggonggre Rongkon on the outskirts of Tura.
In his address, Sangma said, “The hostel is like ‘Nokpante’ (Garo traditional bachelor’s dormitory) where the young boys learn traditional art and craft and various aspects of life besides making lasting memories and friendship with fellow young inmates before they step into adulthood.”
He also assured of looking into the college’s demand for upgradation, and funds for development of library and auditorium.
