Tura, Mar 29: The Super 5 NJY Memorial Cup 2025 Futsal Tournament came to an eventful conclusion on Saturday at the GBHSS Chandmari Football Turf in Tura, with Evening FC winning this year’s title by 3-1 against Blitz Wolf.
Organised by ICFAI University, Tura Campus, in collaboration with the District Football Association, Tura, and the District Sports Office, West Garo Hills, the tourney aimed at promoting athleticism and camaraderie among participants and also bring together football enthusiasts and young talents from across the region.
The final match between Evening FC and Blitz Wolf saw intense gameplay with Tremarchwall Ch Marak scoring twice for Evening FC in the 3rd and 4th minute and Pinkachu a Sangma adding another goal in the 11th minute.
Blitz Wolf had their comeback in the 17th minute with a goal by William Raksan Marak but fell short at overcoming Evening FC’s strong defence.

The winning team, Evening FC, received the champions trophy along with Rs 30,000 while Blitz Wolf received the runners up trophy along with Rs 20,000.
Awards in different categories were also distributed. The trophy for Best Player was awarded to Easter Salchang Ch Sangma of Evening FC, the Highest Goal Scorer award went to Tremarchwall Ch. Marak of Evening FC with 9 goals scored in the tourney, and the Best Goalkeeper title was awarded to Sengrang R Marak of Blitz Wolf.
Other than the halftime show by Laisve Dance Studio, the eventful day also featured an exhibition match between the women’s teams of ICFAI and Mason Phillips Academy. Mason Phillips Academy defeated ICFAI by 2-1 and Regina R Marak received an appreciation award for being the first and only female referee in Garo hills.
Spanning for three days (March 27–29), the tourney featured 30 local clubs and teams vying for the championship. With many teams participating and limited time, two matches were played simultaneous on adjacent courts. Following futsal rules, each match was 30 minutes, with 15-minute halves, a 5-minute halftime, and five players per side.
