
Shillong, Apr 19: Top judges of the country deliberated on unique legal traditions under the Sixth Schedule in Meghalaya among other vital aspects of judiciary at a programme organised by High Court of Meghalaya on Saturday.
The evolving relationship between the judiciary and the media were also discussed during the programme on “Judiciary and the Media, Local and Customary Laws under Sixth Schedule in Meghalaya”.

Supreme Court judge Justice Surya Kant delivered an insightful address on “Optimizing Court Appearance: Harmonizing Physical, Virtual and Hybrid Mode with Live Streaming Restrictions” at the programme.
Former Lokpal and former Supreme Court judge Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose took part in the programme that fostered meaningful dialogue on the topic.
The event also witnessed the presence of Justice IP Mukerji, Chief Justice of High Court of Meghalaya; Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya, judge of High Court for the state of Telangana; and Justice HS Thangkhiew and Justice W Diengdoh, judges of High Court of Meghalaya.
