Shillong, Aug 6: Vehicle movement was diverted along the busy Hawakhana-Jerusalem Road in Tura after an electric pole slipped from its base and began tilting on Thursday.
The pole began leaning when an agency was replacing old electric poles and clearing overhead cables in the area.
Tura Traffic Police immediately diverted traffic to prevent any untoward incident. Officials from the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited also reached the site, assessed the damage and began replacing the damaged pole.
Meanwhile, no injuries or property damage were reported.
