Woman beaten and abandoned in Tura forest

Tura, Oct 22: A 26-year old woman was severely beaten and abandoned in a semi-unconscious state inside the Captain Reserve Forest area, near Daldagre, Tura in what is suspected to be a case of abduction and assault.

A police team on routine patrol duty from Araimile police station was alerted about the presence of an injured woman left abandoned in the reserve on Wednesday morning. She was found with injury marks and unable to speak.

According to police, she hails from a locality in Tura and has a substance abuse problem and may have been targeted by a person or persons. She has since been admitted to Tura civil hospital.
