Woman from Pynursla found dead in Bengaluru

Shillong, April 30: A woman from Meghalaya, Agatha Ba Ithianghun Khongwet, was found dead inside her rented house in Bengaluru on Wednesday evening.

Informing about the incident on Thursday, the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Bengaluru Unit said her body was discovered between 7 pm and 7:30 pm.

The woman hailing from Tangmang, Pynursla in East Khasi Hills, was reportedly in a live-in relationship with her alleged boyfriend, Nawaz Sharif from Manipur, at the rented house at Hebbal, Bengaluru, according to the KSU.

The case, currently under investigation, is suspected to be of suicide / murder. However, other possibilities have not been ruled out, the KSU said in a statement.

“Members of the KSU Bengaluru Unit were present yesterday, along with her friends, and extended necessary support,” it said.

Expressing deep condolences over the demise and solidarity with the bereaved family, the KSU urged the authorities concerned to conduct a fair and thorough investigation into the incident.
