13 Bangla nationals held for smuggling

Shillong, Dec 23: BSF troops apprehended 13 Bangladeshi smugglers and seized sugar and other contraband items worth around ₹10.5 lakh during simultaneous raids conducted along the Indo-Bangla border in Meghalaya.

Around 35 bags of sugar, liquor, tea, copper wire, local cigarettes, skin cream, blankets, garlic, and other edible items meant for smuggling were seized during the raids conducted at various locations in East Khasi Hills, East Jaintia Hills, and South Garo Hills districts on Sunday.

The apprehended persons were handed over to Dawki Police Station, West Jaintia Hills district.
