India Post releases special cover, stamp on KHADC 

Shillong, Oct 22: In a special honour for Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), the India Post released a special cover, stamp and envelope of the Council during a philatelic exhibition here on Monday.

“The KHADC has been included in the Postal Service of India (India Post) with the printing of 2,000 copies of a special cover of KHADC,” said Pyniaid Sing Syiem, CEM of KHADC.

“The special cover of KHADC was sent to the National Museum in Delhi… it will be sent back to the Council to sell the stamps… the Council will also be able to use the stamps,” he said.

The special cover details about KHADC in Hindi, English and Khasi language.

The Philatelic Exhibition Meghapex 2024 was organised by the Department of Posts in collaboration with the Meghalaya Postal Division at State Convention Centre, Shillong.

Various stamps used since ancient times were on display at the exhibition, which was also attended by Meghalaya DGP Idashisha Nongrang and Chief Postmaster Northeast Circle Sanjiv Ranjan among others.
