207 from state get Central jobs

Shillong, Oct 29: Among the 51,000 candidates, who received appointment letters during the Rozgar Mela on Tuesday, 207 from Meghalaya were recruited in various Central government departments.

Of the Meghalaya candidates, 191 were recruited in Department of Post, 15 in Railways and one in NIT Meghalaya.

Shillong was one of the 40 venues of Rozgar Mela in the country where prime minister Narendra Modi remotely distributed the appointment letters to the 51,000 candidates.

Addressing the occasion, union MoS external affairs and textile Pabitra Margherita, who is a Rajya Sabha member from Assam, elaborated on how the Rozgar Mela reflects the visionary leadership of the prime minister.

“In Shillong, young achievers from Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura, and Assam gathered to mark this milestone, showcasing the government’s dedication to reaching every corner of India, including the vibrant and resource-rich Northeast,” he said.

Exhorting the youth for dedication in their service, the minister said, “This day is not about statistics, it is about you. You are ambassadors of our government’s vision for India.”
