PN Syiem promises to set up coaching, rehab centres

Shillong, Feb 12: KHADC chief Pyniaid Sing Syiem on Tuesday assured to set up a coaching centre, rehabilitation centre, promote entrepreneurship, sports and improve health care system, if elected as MDC of Nongthymmai constituency.

Expressing confidence to win the KHADC elections scheduled for February 21, Syiem said the coaching centre would offer free coaching on various competitive examinations. 

“We will do this because students from poor family background cannot afford coaching outside the state,” he said.

On the need to improve facilities in his constituency, he said, “There are villages in the constituency where residents have to buy water for drinking and there are also people, who cannot afford to go for better medical treatment. We need to improve the health care system.”

He also promised to drug counselling and rehabilitation centres for people who cannot afford the treatment. 

“We also want to set up a skill development institute to train our youth in different trades,” he added.
