The event was organized by the District Administration and the Education Department of South West Garo Hills as part of the Chief Minister’s Students Digital Learning Aid (M-TAB) initiative. Dignitaries in attendance included Deputy Commissioner Hema Nayak, Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs), Block Development Officers (BDOs), School Education Officers, and school principals and other officials from across the district.

Addressing the gathering, MLA Sanjay Sangma emphasized the importance of digital learning in today’s education landscape. He noted that the initiative aligns with the government’s vision to enhance e-learning accessibility and integrate technology into teaching and learning. He further highlighted that digital resources, when used effectively, can be powerful tools for academic success but also cautioned about their potential drawbacks if misused.

Deputy Commissioner Hema Nayak lauded the government’s continuous efforts in improving education through various initiatives. She cited recent interventions such as the CM Impact booklet distribution and the provision for students to attempt the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination twice a year, ensuring they do not lose an academic year due to failure.

SEO Tapos Marak acknowledged the district’s relatively low performance in SSLC and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examinations and encouraged students to strive for better results with the aid of digital learning tools.

Additionally, SDSEO Emphul Marak expressed optimism about the initiative’s impact, stating that such programs will enhance students’ knowledge and academic performance.

The Chief Minister’s Students Digital Learning Aid (M-TAB) program aims to equip students with modern learning tools, bridging the digital divide and empowering the youth of Meghalaya with access to quality education.
