It is also affiliated with the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC).

A total of 16 eminent mountaineers contested the election, from which 11 members were elected to the GC.

The newly formed council will serve a two‑year term alongside the newly elected President, Col. Vijay Singh, VSM (Retired).

Members elected to the GC for the term 2025–2027 include Prem Singh (Retired IG, ITBP), Debraj Dutta (Kolkata), Wallambok Lyngdoh (Meghalaya), Col.
