Swift action sought to book culprits

Shillong, Jan 10: Cabinet minister Marcuise N Marak has condemned the incident of assault at Rajabala and demanded swift action to book the culprits.

“Such acts of violence have no place in our society,” the NPP MLA from Williamnagar said in a statement.

“I have personally been in touch with the district administration and concerned authorities and have urged them to take swift and decisive action to identify the culprits and ensure that they are brought to justice at the earliest,” he said.

He also offered condolences to the family of ACHIK member Dilseng M Sangma, who lost his life in the incident.

“My heartfelt condolences go out to the bereaved family of Shri Dilseng M Sangma, who tragically succumbed to his injuries. His untimely demise is a great loss, and I stand in solidarity with his family, friends, and the ACHIK NGO during this moment of profound grief,” he said.

Urging the public to remain calm and maintain peace, he said, “I appeal to the people to remain calm and maintain peace, while assuring that no individual involved in this heinous act will be spared. Justice must prevail, and the safety of our citizens remains paramount.”
