LPG stocks sufficient, no need for panic: Admin

Consumers facing issues with online booking urged to do manual booking

Shillong, March 19: East Khasi Hills administration has urged LPG consumers not to panic as the stocks of cooking are sufficient and that there has been no disruption in the supply although booking cycles are “slightly delayed”.

Oil marketing companies and distributors have confirmed adequate and sufficient domestic LPG stock across the district, according to an official statement.

Admitting that transit issues have pushed the distribution backlog from 1.2 days to 1.4 days, the statement claimed there is no disruption in the supplies.

“Consumers are requested to continue booking cylinders as per their normal requirement…do not resort to panic booking or unnecessary hoarding,” the release said, warning that such practices may create artificial shortages.

Authorities asked users facing technical glitches in online booking to book manually with agencies and to complete e‑KYC verification for smooth and transparent distribution.

The administration said it is monitoring stock positions and urged people to report irregularities to their distributors or the DC’s office.
