Shillong, Aug 4: A Special POCSO Court in East Khasi Hills has sentenced Abdul Khudus to 3 years imprisonment for sexually molesting a 7-year-old girl in 2015.
As per a police press release, the conviction was pronounced on July 28, 2026 by MK Lyngdoh, Special Judge (POCSO), Shillong in connection with Madanrting PS Case No. 117(9)2015.
The court awarded 3 years jail and a fine of ₹20,000 under Section 8 of the POCSO Act, with an additional 6 months in case of default.
Khudus was also given 2 years imprisonment under Section 506 Part I IPC.
Police said an FIR was lodged on September 28, 2015 by the victim’s grandmother.
After investigation by WPSI P. Wahlang, a charge sheet was filed in April 2016 and the accused was arrested.
With 2 months and 1 day already served, Khudus will now undergo the remaining 2 years, 9 months and 29 days in jail, police added.
