Shillong, August 25: The Meghalaya government will launch the “CM-IMPACT Read & Rise Meghalaya” programme on Wednesday as part of its wider effort to improve learning outcomes across the state.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma will launch the programme at the Assembly Annexe Hall in Shillong. Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui will attend the event as the guest of honour.
The programme forms part of CM-IMPACT-Chief Minister’s Initiative for Maximising Pass Achievement and Classroom Triumph, an educational reform initiative aimed at addressing persistent learning gaps, improving board examination pass percentages and making academic support more accessible to students.
Read & Rise is expected to focus on reading readiness as the foundation for progress across subjects, recognising that children who struggle to read often face difficulties in mathematics, science and other areas of the curriculum.
