ADC polls: Cong releases second list of candidates

Shillong, Jan 11: The opposition Congress on Friday released its second list of 16 candidates for the upcoming elections to the autonomous district councils (ADCs) in the Khasi and Jaintia Hills region, scheduled for February 21. Of the 16 candidates, 11 will contest seats under the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), while five will contest under the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC).

The KHADC candidates are: 

• Victor Ranee – Jirang

 • Micky Douglas Syiem – Umroi

 • Lamborsing Nongrum – Nongkrem

 • Rilang Nongkhlaw – Langkyrdem Laitkroh

 • Monarch Shabong – Nongshken

 • Batskhem Marbaniang – Mawsynram

 • B Vitus Rymmai – Sohra

 • George Sun – Mawphlang Diengiei

 • G Ningstar Marthong – Nongstoin

 • Kodang Rashir – Mawshynrut

 • Pherdonnam Rngaid – Langrin

The JHADC candidates are: • Bitos Sari – Mukhla Ummulong

 • Katbanbiang Lamare – Nartiang

 • Richard Singh Lyngdoh – Mynso Nongjngi

 • Aron Pasweth – Jowai South

 • Lalwilliam Thiaite – Saipung Nongkhlieh

So far, the Congress has announced a total of 42 candidates for the elections to the two ADCs, comprising 16 from JHADC and 26 from KHADC.
