Ads for 1,000 jobs in schools, colleges soon: Govt

Shillong, Dec 12: A massive recruitment drive to fill up around 1,000 vacancies in government schools and colleges across the state will begin soon, said education minister Rakkam A Sangma on Wednesday.

The advertisements for filling up the vacancies in the education department right from higher and technical education, colleges and higher secondary, secondary and primary schools will be issued in the next two-three weeks, he said.

The minister said the government’s decision to start science streams in the five colleges and commerce streams in three colleges, have led to the creation of over 248 posts.

“We will be calling advertisements very soon to ensure these courses start from the next academic session,” he said.

Meanwhile, appointment of the vice-chancellor for Captain Williamson Sangma State University has been completed, he informed. 

“We want to start some post graduate courses from the next academic session. Accordingly, the university will be calling for recruitment immediately as soon as possible,” he added.
