Shillong, June 17: The state government has refuted the KHADC chief’s allegation that the former had withheld funds meant for autonomous district council (ADCs) and that all dues up to March 2026 have been cleared.
Rejecting the allegation, Deputy Chief Minister in-charge District Council Affairs Prestone Tynsong on Wednesday said the ADCs should appreciate the fact that government sometimes even release advance instalments to the district council.
On the KHADC dues, he said, “Up to March 2026, we have cleared everything… so I don’t see we have any outstanding anymore.”
The CEM KHADC had earlier accused the state of delaying release of funds to the Council.
